Basketball Recap: First Baptist Takes a Loss

First Baptist lost against Community Christian two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The First Baptist Crusaders fell to Community Christian 44-38.

When it comes to explaining why First Baptist lost, don't look at Lydia Wynja. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Wynja has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last ten times she's played. Keira Wynja was another key player, putting up eight points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, First Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

First Baptist's defeat dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Community Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, First Baptist will square off against Immanuel Lutheran at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. First Baptist's defense has only allowed 28.6 points per game this season, so Immanuel Lutheran's offense will have their work cut out for them. Community Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
