Baseball Game Preview: Ontario Christian Knights vs. West Covina Bulldogs

The Ontario Christian Knights are taking a road trip to face off against the West Covina Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Ontario Christian's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Monday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ontario Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Newport Harbor on Saturday. The Knights fell 6-1 to the Sailors.

Ontario Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Escoto, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. That stolen base was Escoto's first of the season.

Meanwhile, West Covina was able to grind out a solid win over South on Saturday, taking the game 9-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Joaquin Diaz looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Griffey Moncada was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Issac Infranca was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Ontario Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for West Covina, their record is now 9-7.
