Basketball Recap: Wrangell Comes Up Short

Wrangell lost against Ketchikan last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wrangell Wolves were beaten by the Ketchikan Kings 68-36. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ketchikan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcus Stockhausen, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points and six assists. Stockhausen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jozaiah Dela Cruz, who posted 11 points.

Wrangell's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Ketchikan, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

Looking ahead, Wrangell will challenge Mt. Edgecumbe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mt. Edgecumbe's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests. As for Ketchikan, they will welcome Juneau-Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Ketchikan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
