            Softball Recap: University Prep Panthers vs. Durham Trojans        
        
		
        
        
            With a playoff win on the line, University Prep rose to the challenge  on Tuesday. They blew past the Durham Trojans 9-2. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 12 contests by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Hailey Pebley was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out six batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off   ten  hits. Pebley was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Abigail Lewis and  Madisyn Rubalcava did most of the damage at the plate:  Lewis  went 1-for-3 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run, while  Rubalcava  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  Rubalcava has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was  Riley Villano, who  went 1-for-2 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.

University Prep pushed their record up to 16-10-2 with the  win, which was their 20th straight  at home dating back to last season. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Durham, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8-1.
As of now, neither University Prep nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
