Baseball Recap: Shady Side Academy Wins Going Away Against East Allegheny

Shady Side Academy owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. Everything went their way against the East Allegheny Wild Cats as they made off with a 9-0 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Wild Cats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ty McCaskey was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Trischler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Ben Clendenning also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Shady Side Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.

Shady Side Academy's record now sits at 6-12. As for East Allegheny, they dropped their record down to 0-17 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Shady Side Academy will take on Burrell at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. East Allegheny does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
