Lake Wales extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Lake Region. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Thunder. Eight seems to be a good number for the Highlanders as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Karsyn Maddox, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Kyra Williams was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for Lake Wales and bumps their season record up to 16-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Lake Region, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 25-4.

Coming up, Lake Wales will take on Eau Gallie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Highlanders 3.8, the Commodores 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Lake Region does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
