Football Recap: Hoggard Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hoggard can now relate to. They fell 14-7 to the Millbrook Wildcats on Friday. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Hoggard still got an impressive performance from Desyn Durand, who picked up 92 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 1.8 yards per carry. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Hoggard; they were averaging 4.4yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three contests they've fallen to only 3.6 per game (which corresponds perfectly with their time in the postseason).

Leading Millbrook to victory were Brilison McCullers and Malachi Gilchrist. McCullers rushed for 45 yards and a pair of TDs, while Gilchrist picked up 103 receiving yards. That's the most receiving yards Gilchrist has posted since back in October.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hoggard fell to 12-1. As for Millbrook, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Hoggard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Millbrook, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hough on the 11th. The Huskies' defense has only allowed 7.2 points per game this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
