Baseball Recap: Grayson County Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Grayson County challenged Daviess County on Friday. The Cougars took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Grayson County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Levi Rogers, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was Chase Baunach, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Grayson County and nudges their season record down to 8-10. As for Daviess County, they pushed their record up to 9-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grayson County will face off against Edmonson County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.73 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Daviess County, they will head out to face off against Christian County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
