Softball Game Preview: Chopticon Braves vs. Calvert Cavaliers

The Chopticon Braves will square off against the Calvert Cavaliers on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Chopticon barely beat La Plata the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Chopticon blew past La Plata 8-2 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Braves, who have now won three contests in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calvert). They put the hurt on Westlake with a sharp 20-2 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won nine in a row.

Chopticon pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Calvert, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Chopticon took their win against Calvert in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chopticon since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
