While Kingman Academy's win against Kingman wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Kingman Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Kingman on Saturday, sneaking past 7-5. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Emily Mathys made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off nine hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Taylee Mote was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Caidyn Padilla also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Kingman Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive games.

Kingman Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-1-1. As for Kingman, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Kingman Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-0 defeat against River Valley on the 15th. As for Kingman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-3 win against El Capitan on the 15th.
