It was a good run, but Gold Beach unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 61-51 to the Illinois Valley Cougars. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Gold Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Illinois Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gold Beach will head out to square off against Reedsport at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Reedsport is on a five-game streak of home wins, Gold Beach a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Illinois Valley, they will take on Oakland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oakland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
