Basketball Recap: Coeur d'Alene Takes a Loss

Coeur d'Alene saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Francis Parker Lancers. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Coeur d'Alene saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brookeslee Colvin posted 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Colvin is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Caroll, who earned eight points along with six boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Coeur d'Alene smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Francis Parker got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabella Riddle out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brieana Brown, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Coeur d'Alene and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Francis Parker, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Coeur d'Alene didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-66 win against Birmingham on the 19th. As for Francis Parker, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-33 victory against Mt. Diablo on the 19th.
