Volleyball Recap: Johns Creek Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Johns Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the Lanier Longhorns 3-0 on Tuesday. The Gladiators haven't had any issues with the Longhorns recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Johns Creek never let Lanier on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-10, 25-22.

Charlize Maldonado was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had ten digs and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high.

Maldonado wasn't the only good server: Johns Creek was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lanier only served four aces.

The victory got Johns Creek back to even at 6-6. As for Lanier, they moved to 10-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Johns Creek has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Marist on the 27th. As for Lanier, they will take on Bartram Trail at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
