Volleyball Preview: Forest Park Bruins vs. Riverbend Bears

Forest Park has gone 5-0 against Riverbend recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Forest Park Bruins' homestand will continue as they prepare to take on the Riverbend Bears at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, everything went Forest Park's way against Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology as Forest Park made off with a 3-0 victory.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-12, 25-15.

Forest Park can attribute much of their success to Juliara Cumba, who had four aces and three digs. Cumba is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Bella McClain was another key player, getting four digs and 11 assists.

Forest Park was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in eight consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Riverbend had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Black Hawks 3-2.

Forest Park's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-5. As for Riverbend, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
