Briggsdale had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 22-25, 25-18, 25-12, 15-9.
Prairie better focus on containing Sloan Benson and Sawyer Malcom-Dunfee as the pair were huge in Briggsdale's win. Benson had 33 digs and one assist, while Malcom-Dunfee had 15 digs and one assist. Those 33 digs gave Benson a new career-high. Kendra Burns also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.
Prairie's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Briggsdale, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.
Prairie beat Briggsdale 3-1 in their previous matchup on September 12th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
