Hemlock (Mich.) had a comfortable lead entering the fourth quarter, but used 14 fourth quarter points to seal the 45-20 victory over
Montague (Mich.).
The Huskies were up 21-14 at the half after taking the lead on a
Chase Wiechmann touchdown run in the first quarter.
Hemlock expanded its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS scored two times in the third, including once on a field goal by
Cody Konop.
The loss snapped the Wildcats' 6-game winning streak.
Montague's
Jacob Buchberger played well. The freshman quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Wiechmann stood out for the Huskies in the win. He ran for one touchdown.
MHS came in allowing just 11.2 points per game this season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Montague, which notched a 35-16 victory over Fremont in its previous outing.
