Softball Recap: Jamestown Wins Going Away Against Girard

While Jamestown put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Girard. The Muskies were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Yellowjackets. The Muskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.

Girard's batters probably weren't too happy with Miranda Biles, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Biles has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gianna Solderich, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and one run. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Cadman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Jamestown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Girard, they dropped their record down to 5-16 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Jamestown will venture away from home to square off against Sharon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Muskies surely won't give up without a fight. Girard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
