Basketball Game Preview: Galena Hawks vs. Susitna Valley Rams

The Galena Hawks and the Susitna Valley Rams will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

Galena's tournament run continued when they took on Seward on Friday. Galena took a blow against Seward, falling 78-46.

Meanwhile, Susitna Valley suffered their biggest defeat since January 31, 2024 on Friday. They lost 75-50 to Bethel.

Susitna Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Galena, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Galena was able to grind out a solid win over Susitna Valley when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 50-41. Will Galena repeat their success, or does Susitna Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
