Basketball Recap: Pike County Comes Up Short

Pike County lost against Straughn back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pike County Bulldogs fell just short of the Straughn Tigers by a score of 56-53.

Leading Straughn to victory were Clark Jordan and Joseph Driver. Jordan went 6 for 8 en route to 13 points and six rebounds, while Driver went 7 of 12 on his way to 19 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Charlie Jordan was another key player, putting up seven points.

Pike County's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Straughn, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-14 record this season.

Pike County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Straughn has also already played their next matchup, a 67-60 win against New Brockton on the 28th.
