Baseball Game Preview: Grosse Pointe North Norsemen vs. L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders

The Grosse Pointe North Norsemen will face off against the L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

University Liggett hit Grosse Pointe North with a five-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Neither the Norsemen nor the Knights could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 9-9 tie.

Meanwhile, L'Anse Creuse North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Grosse Pointe North. Surprisingly, this marked the Crusaders' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

L'Anse Creuse North got a good showing from Gavin Azzopardi, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Azzopardi has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, L'Anse Creuse North saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lukas Bray, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Grosse Pointe North's draw gives them a new season record of 3-13-1. As for L'Anse Creuse North, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
