Softball Game Preview: Alief Hastings Bears vs. Foster Falcons

The Alief Hastings Bears will challenge the Foster Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Alief Hastings has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight defeats, while Foster will come in with eight straight wins.

Alief Hastings fell victim to Fulshear and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Chargers, falling 17-0.

Meanwhile, Foster put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's seventh consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Alief Taylor a 17-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lizzy Yeager looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jessica Reyes was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Jordan Tosch was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Foster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in seven consecutive games.

Foster's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Alief Hastings, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.
