Winter Springs has no trouble against Circle Christian

In what's become a running theme this season, the Winter Springs Bears gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Circle Christian with a sharp 77-51 win. Given Winter Springs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Circle Christian is ranked 599th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Winter Springs can attribute much of their success to Saige Carnegie, who scored 25 points. That's the first time this season that Carnegie scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Williams, who scored 16 points.

Despite the defeat, Circle Christian had strong showings from Connor Lion, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds, and Lucas Valdes, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Valdes hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games.

The victory makes it two in a row for Winter Springs and bumps their season record up to 12-6. As for Circle Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Winter Springs and Lake Mary Prep will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Circle Christian, they will be playing at home against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
