Soccer Game Preview: San Marcos vs. Anaheim

The San Marcos Royals will face off against the Anaheim Colonists at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Marcos will be strutting in after a victory while Anaheim will be coming in after a loss.

Anaheim will be up against a hot San Marcos team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. San Marcos never let Santa Barbara onto the board and left with a 3-0 win on Tuesday. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Dons are ranked 618th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elliot Grey and Jose Ramirez scored all three of San Marcos' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 29 goals.

Meanwhile, Anaheim didn't have quite enough to beat Santiago last Friday and fell 3-2. The loss put an end to the Colonists' undefeated start to the season.

San Marcos' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three matchups. As for Anaheim, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1-5.
