Softball Recap: Perryville Takes a Loss

Perryville was the 7-3 winner over North Harford when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers lost 12-5 to the Hawks on Tuesday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Taegan Spier put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Spier wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Seidle, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Saphira Hamill also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Perryville's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for North Harford, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

While Perryville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
