Baseball Recap: Exeter Comes Up Short

Exeter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fordland Eagles. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Exeter saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cason Antle, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI. Another was Jax Brock, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Exeter's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Fordland, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Exeter will be playing in front of their home fans against New Heights Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Fordland, they will venture away from home to challenge Cabool at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.58 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
