Softball Recap: Tuscaloosa Academy's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Tuscaloosa Academy's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Pleasant Grove Spartans as they made off with a 12-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Anna Claire Johnson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lillian Johnson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Tuscaloosa Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

With the win, Tuscaloosa Academy broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-4. As for Pleasant Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Tuscaloosa Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-1 victory against Bessemer City on the 11th. As for Pleasant Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-0 defeat against Hale County on the 12th.
