Baseball Game Preview: Ramona Rams vs. Patriot Warriors

For the second straight game, Ramona will face off against Patriot. The Rams will welcome the Warriors at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Ramona's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Patriot's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Monday just wasn't the day for Ramona's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Patriot on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 23 runs in the game before, the Rams' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For Patriot's part, not much got past Javier Tinoco, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Ramona off the board. Tinoco also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Warriors are 6-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isaac Martinez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Patriot was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Patriot and bumps their season record up to 14-12. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Ramona, they now have a losing record of 12-13-1.
