Volleyball Recap: Xavier Starts Season with Victory Against Putnam

Xavier gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They blew past the Putnam Clippers 3-0.

Xavier was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-20, 25-17.

Seamus McCormack paced Xavier's offense, picking up 16 kills. McCormack got some help from Elijah Barnhart and his 30 assists. Lukas Waas controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Putnam is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Xavier has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Wolcott RVT on the 10th. Putnam has also already played their next match (against Rockville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
