Softball Recap: Encinal Takes a Loss

Encinal lost a heartbreaker to Bishop O'Dowd when they met back in April of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. Encinal took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop O'Dowd. The loss continues a trend for the Jets in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost nine in a row.

Encinal saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Tran, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another was Jaydah Tautalatasi - Robinson, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Encinal's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Bishop O'Dowd, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Coming up, Encinal will square off against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they will head out to face off against Castro Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Castro Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Bishop O'Dowd's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
