Markiest Houston leads a balanced attack to beat Mt. Bethel Christian Academy

Even though the Mt. Bethel Christian Academy Eagles scored an imposing 59 points on Thursday, the Rocky River Ravens still came out on top. Rocky River came out on top in a nail-biter against Mt. Bethel Christian Academy and snuck past 62-59. The victory was all the more spectacular given Rocky River's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 249th in North Carolina, while Mt. Bethel Christian Academy is ranked 74th in Georgia).
Rocky River's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Markiest Houston, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Houston hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamari Johnson, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Rocky River's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Mt. Bethel Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Rocky River is on the road again on Friday and play against Whitefield Academy at 12:30 p.m. on December 29th. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Andrew's at 5:00 p.m. on December 29th.
