Brennan is 9-1 against Taft since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Brennan Bears will be playing at home against the Taft Raiders at 12:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Brennan 3.5, Taft 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Brennan is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Stevens get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bears with their most commanding win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Avery Leatherman, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Mia Gutierrez-Castillo was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Brennan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Taft has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.07 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against Harlan, falling 11-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Taft saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacelyn Parks, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Taft's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Brennan, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Brennan was able to grind out a solid victory over Taft when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 6-1. Will Brennan repeat their success, or does Taft have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
