Baseball Recap: Wolfe County Victorious

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Wolfe County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past the Knott County Central Patriots 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Wolves: when they faced off against the Patriots back in April, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Jaden Hollon tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over eight innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Jayden Molands was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

Wolfe County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Knott County Central, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-10.

As of now, neither Wolfe County nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
