Basketball Recap: Willow Spring's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Willow Spring strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 55-51 W against the Orange Panthers.

Willow Spring found their leader in sophomore Dillon Robinson, who posted 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Brandon Brooks was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Willow Spring smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Willow Spring's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Orange, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Willow Spring is taking a road trip to challenge Laney at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orange, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Knightdale at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Knights have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
