Recap: Dan River Wildcats vs. Appomattox County Raiders
The Dan River Wildcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Appomattox County on the road and fell 57-18. Dan River has struggled against Appomattox County recently, as their game on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Dan River saw an underclassman step up: Stanford Lipscomb rushed for 26 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 140 yards and a touchdown.
Dan River's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.0 points per game. As for Appomattox County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-5.
