Basketball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Heritage was feeling good fresh off their 81-46 takedown of Rolesville on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Huskies were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 57-56 to the Sanderson Spartans. Surprisingly, this marked the Huskies' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Heritage's loss came despite strong showings from Ryder Strand and Christian Hargett. Strand shot 71% from the field on his way to 21 points and six rebounds, while Hargett posted 18 points. Strand is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last eight games he's played dating back to last season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sanderson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kendrick Pulley, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 18 points. Those 18 points gave Pulley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Malakhi Murphy, who shot 56% from the field en route to 10 points along with eight boards and four blocks.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Heritage has already played their next game, an 82-80 loss against Leesville Road on the 21st. As for Sanderson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-47 win against Clayton on the 21st.
