Baseball Recap: Powell Comes Up Short

Powell's last matchup with West could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Panthers came up short against the Rebels, falling 17-7. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lucas Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Periclis Davila, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Powell's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Powell will face off against Girard at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West, they will challenge Boyle County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (West 4, Boyle County 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
