Volleyball Recap: Puyallup Vikings vs. Curtis Vikings
After a string of ten wins, Puyallup's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They came up short against the Curtis Vikings, falling 3-0. Puyallup has struggled against Curtis recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Puyallup was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Curtis work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 29-27, 25-16.
Haylee Tavares paced Puyallup's offense, picking up ten kills. Tavares got some help from
Reese Sheppard and her 24 assists.
Elaina Duong had an outrageously good game for Curtis as she had 12 digs and three aces. Duong has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played.
Puyallup's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4-1. As for Curtis, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 19-0.
After both having extra time off, Puyallup and Kentwood will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Puyallup will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Curtis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
