Softball Recap: Gig Harbor Drops Season-High Score on Lakes

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gig Harbor). They put the hurt on the Lakes Lancers with a sharp 30-5 victory on Monday. Considering the Tides have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Gig Harbor got a massive performance out of Abby Miller, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Miller a new career-high. Isabelle Harris was another key player, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Gig Harbor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .733. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Gig Harbor pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.3 runs over those games. As for Lakes, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coming up, Gig Harbor will be playing at home against Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lakes, they will venture away from home to face off against North Thurston at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
