Preview: Solon Comets vs. Marysville Monarchs
The Solon Comets will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Marysville Monarchs at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Solon is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Wednesday, Solon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-48 to Copley. The loss put an end to Solon's undefeated start to the season.
Meanwhile, Marysville had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.2 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-38 victory over Dublin Jerome. Marysville's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Solon's defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-1. As for Marysville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
