Basketball Game Preview: Roncalli Royals vs. Danville Warriors

Two dominant guards in Elliot Leffler and Emma Ancelet are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Roncalli Royals are taking a road trip to challenge the Danville Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Roncalli is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since November 16th on Thursday. They fell just short of Ben Davis by a score of 40-38. The Royals were up 26-8 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Meanwhile, Danville was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Southmont 63-35. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 28 points or more this season.

Danville's win came from a few key players Roncalli will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Addison Davis, who went 8 of 12 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ancelet, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 15 points along with six assists and three steals.

Danville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Roncalli, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
