Baseball Recap: Canutillo Finds Home Field Redemption Against Andress

There's no place like home for Canutillo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on Andress with a sharp 11-3 win on Friday. Considering Canutillo has won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ian Melendez was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Ashton Dupri was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Canutillo has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Andress, their record now sits at 10-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canutillo will venture away from home to square off against Burges at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Andress, they will head out to face off against El Paso at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
