Basketball Recap: Scripps Ranch Takes a Loss

Scripps Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Helix Highlanders. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Scripps Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Helix, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scripps Ranch will face off against Cathedral Catholic at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Cathedral Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 contests. As for Helix, they will take on Monte Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Helix knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Monte Vista likes a good challenge.
