Preview: Northglenn Norsemen vs. Rocky Mountain Lobos

Northglenn has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Rocky Mountain Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Northglenn struggled with assists on Tuesday (Horizon had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Northglenn fell 51-40 to Horizon. Northglenn has not had much luck with Horizon recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Jose Jaimes put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Noah Scrivani was another key contributor, scoring five points.

Jonathan Hernandez, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Norsemen squad sat out for Tuesday's matchup. With Hernandez sitting this one out, Elijah Kloeckner got some extra time on the court (20 vs. his season average of 9.39).

Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monarch. The contest was a 27-27 toss-up at halftime, but Rocky Mountain couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the defeat, Rocky Mountain saw an underclassman step up: Daniel Mbadinga scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Avantae Hood, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Northglenn has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Rocky Mountain, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Tuesday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Northglenn have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38.1% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Rocky Mountain struggles in that department as they've made 38.4% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Northglenn was taken down by Rocky Mountain 81-43 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Northglenn have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
