Clarksville won the last time they faced Rock Creek Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Generals were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Lions. Considering the Generals have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kylie Raggard and Aaliyah Watts were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Raggard tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Meanwhile, Watts tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Raggard went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Watts got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Watts has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Kenzie Alexander was excellent, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Jimena Carmona was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Clarksville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rock Creek Academy struck out eight times.
Clarksville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Rock Creek Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarksville will venture away from home to square off against Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rock Creek Academy, they will head out to take on Portland Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
