Basketball Recap: Madison Wins Going Away Against Spring Woods

Madison can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 74-66 win over the Spring Woods Tigers. That looming 74-66 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Marlins yet this season.

Loss or not, Spring Woods got some senior leadership from Trae Pickens and Tavionn Pickens. Trae went 10 of 16 on his way to 22 points, while Tavionn went 9 for 13 on his way to 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Trae has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Torian Pickens, who posted nine points.

Madison's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Spring Woods, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.

Madison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-75 loss against Waltrip on the 14th. Spring Woods has also already played their next matchup, a 69-61 win against Sterling on the 13th.
