White Pine dropped their record down to 11-8 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 10-7 to the Needles Mustangs. If the Bobcats were looking for revenge after losing 14-4 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

White Pine saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Sedlacek, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles. Sedlacek has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

As for Needles, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games.

On Needles' side, Holden Jones made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Jones was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. JD Lusk was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

While White Pine had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
