Softball Game Preview: Thrasher Rebels vs. Biggersville Lions

The Thrasher Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Biggersville Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Thrasher is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Thrasher and Tremont, and Tremont kept the tradition alive. The Rebels fell 9-6 to the Eagles on Tuesday.

Delancy Sartain made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Biggersville). They blew past Falkner 18-6 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won four matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Biggersville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Thrasher, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Thrasher might still be hurting after the 14-2 defeat they got from Biggersville when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
