Softball Recap: American Fork Cavemen vs. Mountain Ridge Sentinels

American Fork extended their losing streak to ten on Monday, dropping their season record down to 8-19 in the process. They came up short against the Mountain Ridge Sentinels, falling 11-1. If the Cavemen were looking for revenge after losing 13-2 to the Sentinels when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Nataanii Fielding was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Mountain Ridge, their record now sits at 20-4. Considering they have won 14 matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Mountain Ridge's side, Red Brooks made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Brooks has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brooklyn Van Renselaar was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Tatyana Toala was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
