Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Gilead Indians vs. Fredericktown Freddies

Mt. Gilead hasn't had much luck against Fredericktown recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Freddies at 5:15 p.m. Fredericktown took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mt. Gilead, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Mt. Gilead turned things around against Shekinah Christian on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Flames. The Indians' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Fredericktown suffered their closest defeat since April 27, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of East Knox by a score of 10-8. The loss continues a trend for the Freddies in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Fredericktown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Mt. Gilead, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

Mt. Gilead might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Fredericktown in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
