Soccer Game Preview: Lake Central vs. Valparaiso

The Lake Central Indians will venture away from home to take on the Valparaiso Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Central's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Lake Central managed to slip by Hammond Bishop Noll the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Indians came up short against the Warriors on Saturday, falling 4-1. The match was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Lake Central struggled afterwards.

Meanwhile, Valparaiso lost 6-2 to Hanover Central on Monday. Valparaiso were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Lake Central's loss dropped their record down to 10-3-1. As for Valparaiso, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2-2.

Lake Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Valparaiso in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
